This 11-year-old rescue pooch is fond of attention, car rides, curling up on human feet, laying on his back, and dreaming about squirrels. He is curious about babies and what's inside your travel mug. Being sneaky is a survival skill he developed from early childhood trauma, which he mostly uses to find comfortable resting spots on human beds and couches when no one is looking. He refuses to change this behavior because his consequences are never severe enough. There is no cage or crate or fence that has ever been able to contain him. He can and will find escape if he is isolated from humans or other dogs. He needs and thrives in relationships. Mac was found and rescued from life on the streets at 2 years old. The abuse and starvation he experienced as a pup seem to make him sensitive to the pain of others. He is known for getting up off the floor when clients are upset and reaching his head onto their laps for some ear scratches. He intuitively knows that when people feel sad or elevated, they can be soothed by connecting to him. One might say he's great at facilitating grounding skills. For having no professional training, his ability to provide emotional support to countless individuals is off the charts. While Mac has many endearing qualities, he also possesses characteristics that keep him from getting a big head. His gas is devastating and frequent. It's the nostril-searing, metal-melting kind - utterly bereft of propriety and extremely unprofessional. What Mac lacks in social skills, he makes up for in appearance. He is one handsome pit mix. His black and white coat is shiny and soft. He is lean, muscular, and strong with a sturdy stance. Mac has won over the unlikeliest of humans in his day - children with fear of dogs, long-time pit bull haters, non-animal people, and even cat people, just to name a few. When you look into his eyes you'll find a hopeless romantic, a dreamer, and a wanderer who loves being rescued over and over again. The bottom line is that Mac is his own brand. Today, you can finally sport his name and paw wherever you go.
